Top 3 Indian youngster who lit up the IPL 2025 — Future stars in the making!

One of the many perks of IPL is that it provides the right platform to the budding talent. In every season, we see new players coming up the ranks and proving their worth. For instance, in 2021 we saw the emergence of Arshdeep Singh, in 2023 we saw the rise of Tilak Varma. And just like these years, in 2024 we saw plenty of young cricketers making a mark.
Here are the top three Indian youngsters who caught eye in IPL 2025 with their charismatic demeanour and raw talent:
Priyansh Arya: The promising young talent
Punjab Kings have managed to qualify for the knockouts after a long time and some credit for this successful campaign goes to their young opener and debutant, Priyansh Arya. He was bought at a solid price of INR 3.8 Crore and is now justifying each and every penny with his performances.
The left handed batsman from Delhi looks a promising young talent who operates with a fearless mindset. Just like his approach, his numbers are also very impressive. In 14 matches so far, he has scored 424 runs, with strike rate and average being 183.54 and 30.28 respectively. Not only that, he has also registered a hundred to his name.
What makes Arya an eye-catching player is his ability to attack right from the first ball. His elegance is magnified when he times the ball perfectly between the fielders. His ability to pick the length early and free arms in all the directions is what makes him a dangerous batsman.
Arya’s most impressive innings so far was witnessed against CSK, when he scored a 103 off 42 balls. Even veterans like Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin were perplexed as they couldn’t find ways to restrict the young batsman.
Arya’s avalanche started when he smashed the very first ball off Khaleel Ahmed. And after that, it was a matter of time as he punished all the bad deliveries out of the park, making the scoreboard tick at a rapid pace. All his shots were crisp and powerful and the way he was targeting different areas of the ground was commendable.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi: The Rise of a 14-year-old sensation
Even before Vaibhav Suryavanshi played his debut game, there were talks about his raw strength and power hitting. The young 14 year old sensation from Bihar was already making heads turn when RR brought him for INR 1.10 Crore.
Suryavanshi made his debut, when the skipper, Sanju Samson got injured. From the first ball he faced, he had a very clear mindset, to smash every ball that came to his radar. His greatest strength is that his tempo remains the same, no matter which bowler he is facing. Whether it’s a youngster or a senior bowler like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, his intent and his approach will not be modified. Thus, it’s his mindset that’s reaping tremendous benefits, to himself and to the team. In 7 matches so far, he has scored 252 runs, at a brutal strike rate of 206.55.
In the match against Gujarat Titans, he looked in different touch altogether. When Siraj pitched a fuller length ball, he freed his arms with zero hesitation, and later when Ishant Sharma targeted his helmet, he pulled it with equal ease. Hence, no matter what, a spinner or a pacer, a youngster or a veteran, Suryavanshi has his formula set!

Digvesh Rathi: LSG’s trump card
Lucknow SuperGiants have looked offbeat this IPL as they played below their potential. However, despite a poor season, Digvesh Rathi proved to be their silver lining as he was their lone warrior, as far as bowling is concerned.
He was obviously Rishabh Pant’s trump card as whenever the team looked in crisis, Rathi would redeem them. With his witty variations and carefree attitude, he was baiting the team every now and then. What makes him a good pick is his attacking bowling, he loves to bowl in tough situations. Normally, spinners hesitate to toss the ball up in powerplay. But it’s Digvesh who realises that he can make an impact only by challenging the batsman.
In 13 matches so far, he has grabbed 14 wickets, with an economy of 8.25. His best showing came in his debut game when LSG faced PBKS. He took two wickets by conceding only 30 runs. One of the reasons for his success was how he targeted stumps throughout the spell. Whether he bowled a googly, or a leg spin, his target was the stumps and that opened a lot of opportunities for him. His strategic bowling changes helped in breaking PBKS’ momentum.
Hence, these three youngsters have shown immense potential and are set to become future stars of Indian Cricket. Their performances in IPL 2025 have certainly set the stage for a bright future.
