The Indian Premier League (IPL) has always played a major role in giving the aspiring cricketers a platform where they can showcase their talent and put a mark for the selectors. Playing for the national team is always the aim of any sportsperson.

The IPL has time and again given India several young talents and this edition is proving to be no different. We are at the halfway stage of the tournament and already there are youngsters who have caught the eye of the audiences through their performances.

Here are the three youngsters who whose performance has left a mark in IPL 2025:

Priyansh Arya (Punjab Kings)
If there is one youngster who has grabbed the headlines during the first half of the IPL, it has been the uncapped left-handed batter from Delhi, Priyansh Arya. The 24-year-old, playing his maiden IPL tourney representing Punjab Kings (PBKS) smashed the fourth fastest IPL century (39 balls) against the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Before that unforgettable knock of 103 from just 42 deliveries, the opener showed glimpses of his talent in his debut IPL game. Playing against Gujarat Titans, he gave his team a rollicking start (47 off 23) and it played a key role in PBKS piling up 43 runs. Though he didn’t have the best of outings in the next two games (8 and 0), Arya decimated CSK bowlers to all round the park at the New Chandigarh Stadium.

Till now, the Southpaw has scored 216 runs in six innings at a jaw dropping strike rate of 216. These performances have cemented his place as one of the best young talents to watch out for and potentially an early contender to be named the emerging player of the tournament.

While these numbers are sensational, it is hard to believe that Priyansh Arya has played 18 T20 games and handful of List A games (7) before making his IPL debut. But that inexperience hasn’t deterred him from playing a fearless brand of cricket.

Vipraj Nigam (7 wickets at an ER of 8.88, and 54 runs at an SR of 216)
Delhi Capitals (DC) have seemed to have unearthed a promising all-rounder who could chip in at crucial times both with bat and ball. In his very first IPL game, Vipraj Nigam stole the show along with Ashutosh Sharma by helping DC chase down an improbable 210, after being 113/6 at one stage.

The right-hander played a scintillating hand by scoring 39 out of the 55-run partnership he shared with Ashutosh. Touted as a player to watch out for, mid-way during that sensational DC chase by their team mentor, Kevin Pietersen, Vipraj delivered the goods almost immediately.

While this match-winning knock notwithstanding, he played a key role with the ball in DC’s away wins against CSK (2/27 at Chepauk) and RCB (2/18 at Chinnaswamy). With his leg-spinners, he has been fearless and not hesitated in bowling at crucial junctures to the best of batters. To his credits, the 7 wickets he took includes the big names such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube among others.

Digvesh Rathi (9 wickets at an ER 7.43)
Another bowler who didn’t have much experience at a senior level coming into this IPL is Lucknow Super Gaints’ (LSG), Digvesh Rathi. The tall leg-spinner from Delhi has been a revelation for the Super Giants in this tournament. Their skipper Rishabh Pant has extensively used him both in the power plays as well as in middle overs to great success.

You would not normally see a leg-spinner bowling in the first 6 overs of an innings, but Digvesh Rathi has bowled at least an over in this phase, in six of seven games for LSG. His height coupled with immaculate length makes it difficult for the batters to score. In this phase, he has an ER of 8.56, picking two wickets in the process.

His returns have created a positive impact on the team and is one of key reasons why LSG won three games in a row and are within the top-5 position in the points table.
