IPL 2021 Records: Gaikwad receives Emerging Player award also youngest player to win Orange Cap

1 - Ruturaj Gaikwad (635) is the youngest player to win Orange Cap in an IPL season at the age of 24 years 257 days. He broke the record of Shaun Marsh (616), who won Orange Cap in 2008 when his age was the age of 24 years 328 days.


2 - Ruturaj Gaikwad is the second player to win the Orange Cap as part of the IPL winning team after Robin Uthappa for KKR in 2014.


1 - Harshal Patel is the first RCB player to win the Purple Cap in an IPL season.


1 - MS Dhoni is the first-ever player to win an IPL title at the age of 40.


1 - Shubman Gill is now the first player with fifty in IPL final without hitting a six.


2 - This is the only second instance of top two runs-scorers in an IPL season are from the same team, as Ruturaj Gaikwad (635 Runs) and Faf du Plessis (633 Runs) are the top two Runs-scorers in IPL 2021. The first occasion of both top scorers in an IPL season playing for the same team was Chris Gayle (608 Runs) and Virat Kohli (557 Runs) in 2011.


7 - Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis registered the seven partnerships of fifty or more runs in IPL 2021. That is the highest number of partnerships of fifty or more runs for CSK. This opening pair surpassed the record of Michael Hussey and Suresh Raina who previously had six partnerships of at least fifty runs in 2013.

1 - CSK is the first team with 3 fifty-plus opening partnerships in the IPL finals. Gaikwad and Plessis added 61 runs today whereas Michael Hussey and Vijay added two fifty-plus partnerships in IPL Finals in 2011 and 2012. No other team has more than one fifty-plus partnership in IPL Final.


100 - Faf du Plessis played his 100th IPL match yesterday.


200 - Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja played his 200th IPL match yesterday.


300 - MS Dhoni captained his 300th T20 game yesterday in IPL 2021 Finals.


2 - MS Dhoni is the only second Indian captain to lead a team in T20 Final after turning 40 years old.


1- Ruturaj Gaikwad wins the Emerging Player Award in IPL 2021. He is the first-ever CSK player to win this award in IPL.


16 - CSK all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has won 16 T20 titles till now which is a world record. Closest to this record is his follow teammate in West Indies team Kieron Pollard, who has won 15 T20 titles till now.

1 - Delhi captain Rishabh Pant achieved an unwanted record of getting run-out most number of times (7) for Delhi Capitals in IPL. He surpassed former Delhi captain Gautam Gambhir who got run-out six times while playing for Delhi in IPL.


50 - Avesh Khan reached the fifty-wicket milestone in IPL after taking the prized scalp of Shubman Gill in this game on 46.


3000 - Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant completed 3000 runs in T20 cricket as a wicket-keeper.CSK skipper MS Dhoni scored the most number of runs in T20 cricket as a wicket-keeper-6663 Runs.


11 - Sunil Narine has won the joint-most Player of the Match awards for KKR in IPL. He equalised the record of Caribbean all-rounder Andre Russell who also won 11 Player of the Match awards for KKR.
