IPL 2025, RCB vs DC, Highlights: KL Rahul’s 93 and a combined 4-35 from Kuldeep and Vipraj power Delhi Capitals to a win over RCB at their home. DC remain unbeaten after four games.

Brief scores: RCB 163/7 (Phil Salt 37, Tim David 37*, Kuldeep Yadav 2/17) lost to DC 169/4 (KL Rahul 93*, Tristan Stubbs 38*, Bhuvenshwar Kumar 2/26) by six wickets
Delhi Capitals cruised to their fourth successive win in this IPL 2025 thanks to an unbeaten 93 from their talismanic batter KL Rahul. Earlier in the evening, it was the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam who stemmed the flow of runs after a rampant start by Phil Salt in the powerplay overs.
Highlights from RCB vs DC game, IPL 2025
Nigam and Kuldeep’s 35-4 pulled things back for DC
The RCB openers made an explosive start, bringing up their team’s 50 in mere three overs. Skipper Axar Patel faced the brunt of the damage along with Mitchell Starc, and it was up to the other bowlers to bring them back into the contest.
The two wrist spinners of DC, young Vipraj Nigam (2/18) and veteran Kuldeep Yadav (2/17) did that job perfectly for the team. When RCB was going great guns, Vipraj conceded just two runs in the fifth over, before taking the prized scalp of Virat Kohli in his next over.
Then Kuldeep got into the act as he snapped the important wicket of dangerous Jitesh Sharma and sent back RCB skipper Rajat Patidar a few balls later. Vipraj capped off his impressive spell by getting his second wicket of the evening. Their combined spell of 4/35 not just put the brakes on RCB scoring but rattled their upper middle-order and was a difference between a score of 200 & eventual total of 163.

Versatile KL Rahul continue to bail out Delhi
For the second game in succession, Delhi Capitals found themselves in tricky situation, courtesy of top order collapse.
In pursuit of 164, DC lost both their openers Jake Fraser-McGurk and Faf du Plessis with just 10 runs on the board on a surface where run scoring isnt straight forward.
They were further reduced to 58/4 in the ninth over, and this is where KL Rahul started playing a gem. He, along with Tristan Stubbs, steadied the ship before producing an onslaught.
Rahul smashed 22 runs in a single over off Josh Hazlewood, which not only brought his half-century but gave DC much-needed momentum. Playing as an opener, he had made 77 against CSK and followed up with a stunning 93* here, coming at No.4. His versatility to play situations makes him an asset to the Capitals.

RCB needs more contributions from the bat of Devdutt Padikkal
The RCB team has a solid batting order, but if we were to point out a weakness, it would be their No.3, Devdutt Padikkal. The team is in dire need of a contribution from the bat of someone like Padikkal.
But that hasn’t happened as barring the game against CSK, the left-hander hasn’t crossed 30. Even today his 8-bal 1 dented RCB batting real bad. He was expected to carry on with the start provided by Phil Salt and Virat Kohli playing around them.
Instead Padikkal got out early and resulted in Rajat Patidar come in early. The skipper couldn’t play his natural attacking game and affected the rest of batting as well.

Conclusion/Way forward
With this win, Delhi Capitals affirm their spot at the top and remain the only team not to have lost a game in this IPL. They would like to carry this winning run to home at Delhi as well where they play next two games against Mumbai and Rajasthan.
On the other hand, RCB remain third in the points table with an NRR of +0.539 and will travel to Jaipur for the game against RR on Sunday. The Bengaluru team will hope for a better batting performance in the coming games.

Hats off to Rahul, guiding his team to an unlikely win after 4 wickets had fallen early. The finesse of bis strokes and capacity to absorb pressure were exemplary. DC get stronger at the top of points table. RCB experience unexpected wobble at home
