Andre Russell brought the firepower just when Kolkata Knight Riders needed a boost in their innings. Walking in during a lull, Russell launched into the bowlers with characteristic aggression, smashing 38 quick runs. His knock included several towering sixes that not only accelerated the scoring rate but also shifted the momentum in KKR’s favor, ensuring they posted a competitive total on the board.

Brevis’ quick fire fifty key in CSK’s chase
Dewald Brevis played a game-changing cameo that proved pivotal in Chennai Super Kings’ chase against KKR. Walking in with the required rate climbing, Brevis unleashed an onslaught, smashing a rapid-fire fifty that included a stunning 30 runs off a single over from Vaibhav Arora. 

His fearless hitting shifted the momentum entirely, breathing new life into CSK’s innings and putting pressure back on the bowlers. Although he was eventually dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy, the damage had already been done — Brevis had set the platform and swung the game firmly in Chennai’s favour.
