- The most successful team in the T20 World Cups. They have moved past West Indies and England, who have won two titles each.
- The only side to defend their title in the T20 World Cup. While West Indies and Australia have successfully defended their titles in the ICC Cricket World Cup (50-overs format), no other side has before India has won two World Cups in succession in the T20 format.
- The only team to successfully win the T20 World Cup at home. With this, they replicated the same feat they achieved by winning the 2011 Cricket World Cup on home soil.

- India scored 250-plus scores in the 2026 T20 World Cup thrice. There are a total of five instances of a side breaching 250 total in an innings.
- India’s 255-5 against New Zealand in the final at Ahmedabad is the highest team score registered in an ICC T20 World Cup knockout game. The second-best (253-7) was also achieved by India, and it was in the Semi-final clash against England at the Wankhede.
- India’s 256-4 against Zimbabwe in a Super 8 game at Chennai is the highest total posted by a team in the 2026 edition, and the second highest across all the editions.
- Team India hit 106 sixes in the tournament, the most by any team in the 2026 T20 World Cup edition.

- Samson’s tally of 321 makes him the most prolific India batter in a single edition of the T20 World Cup. He eclipsed Virat Kohli’s aggregate of 319 in the 2014 T20 World Cup.
- Sanju Samson’s strike rate of 199.37 is the second-best among batters with more than 200 runs in the tournament. Finn Allen’s strike rate of 200.00 while scoring his 298 runs is the best.
- Similarly, Samson’s average of 80.25 is the second-best, only behind 146.00 by Brian Bennett, who made 292 runs in the journey.
- Both Samson and Kishan have scored three half-centuries each, level with three other batters: Bennett, Aiden Markram, and Kusal Mendis. Only Farhan and Seifert have scored four 50+ scores.
- Samson has struck the most sixes (24) in the tournament, and Allen (20) is the only other batter to have hammered 20 or more maximums.
- Samson has the highest individual (97*) by an India batter in the tournament.
- He also has the joint-highest score by an India batter in a T20 World Cup knockout. With his 89 each in both the semi-final and final, Samson leveled with Virat Kohli’s score of 89* at Wankhede against West Indies back in the SF of the 2016 edition.

- Ishan Kishan (171) has scored the most runs for India in 2026 T20 World Cups in the powerplay phase of an innings at a strike rate of 178.12.
- He is followed by Sanju Samson (144 at 197.26) and Abhishek Sharma (118 at 168.57).
- In the middle-over phase (7-15), Suryakumar Yadav has scored the most runs for India (156 at a SR of 130.00), with Samson (154) and Kishan (146) following him.
- In the last five overs (16-20), Hardik Pandya (150 at a SR of 185.19) has the most runs followed by Shivam Dube who has 148 runs to his name.

- Similarly, the pacer’s average of 12.42 is the third lowest, just below Rachin Ravindra’s 12.41 and Shadley van Schalkwyk’s 7.76.
- Bumrah registered the best bowling figures (4-12) by an India bowler, and he is the only one to pick a four-wicket haul among.

- Jasprit Bumrah picked six of his 14 wickets in the last five overs of an innings, the most for an India bowler at death in this T20 World Cup. His ER during this phase is just 6.50, and the next prolific India bowler is Arshdeep Singh, who has picked five wickets in the end overs.
- In the middle overs, Varun’s tally of nine wickets is the most of an India bowler, followed by Axar Patel’s six wickets.
- In the powerplays, Bumrah once again leads the pack for India with six wickets.
