India women’s team recent form
India will enter the tournament with encouraging performances behind them. Against Australia at home in September 2025, they lost the series 1-2 but recorded a thumping 102-run victory in the second ODI, where Smriti Mandhana shone with a stunning century. Earlier, in mid-2025, India defeated England in their own backyard 2-1, which boosted confidence and showcased their ability to win overseas. While consistency has been a concern, these results prove India can beat the best on their day.

Playing style & home advantage
India’s approach is built on strong starts from the top order and controlling games through spin in the middle overs. Playing in front of home crowds adds an extra layer of motivation, while familiar conditions give India an edge, especially with their spin-heavy attack. The team will look to bat aggressively, build pressure with spinners, and rely on fielding discipline to win close contests

India’s chances
With the blend of youth and experience, home advantage, and match-winners across departments, India are well-placed to secure a semi-final berth. Their toughest tests will come against Australia, England, and New Zealand, but victories in these games could propel them towards the final. If the batting remains consistent and the bowling unit delivers as a group, this could be the edition where India go all the way.
