Highlights from MI vs SRH, IPL 2025

Bumrah, Jacks break SRH backbone
Jasprit Bumrah and Will Jacks turned the game on its head with a brilliant seven-over spell between them, conceding just 35 runs and taking three crucial wickets. Their tight and disciplined bowling completely dismantled SRH’s backbone. Bumrah was clinical, giving away only 21 runs in his four overs and removing Heinrich Klaasen with a peach. He knocked Klaasen’s off-stump out of the ground with a beaming yorker and ended his innings on 37 off 28. Meanwhile, Jacks surprisingly effective, dismissed both Ishan Kishan and Travis Head. The offspinner, used immediately after the powerplay to match up against SRH left-handed top three, found plenty of grip and took the wickets of Kishan and Head.

Cummins the sole silver lining for SRH in bowling
Pat Cummins was the lone bright spot in SRH’s bowling attack. His sharp spell kept SRH in the hunt, even when others struggled. Cummins claimed the crucial wickets of Rohit Sharma, Will Jacks and Suryakumar Yadav. He’s consistently delivered under pressure, taking key wickets just when the team needed them most. Cummins’ impact has been vital in holding the bowling unit together. Without him, Hyderabad’s defense would have looked far more fragile.

Mumbai Indians’ batting order coming together is a huge boost
Mumbai’s batting order finally coming together is a massive positive at the halfway mark of the tournament. Rohit Sharma showing intent at the top sets the tone, while Will Jacks getting among the runs adds depth to the lineup. Meanwhile, Ryan Rickelton providing good starts at the top has been another big positive. The biggest plus for Mumbai is that contributions are coming from across the board, not just one or two key players. That balance is crucial in a long tournament like the IPL. It boosts team confidence and takes pressure off individual performers.
