The first-ever IPL auctions to be held away from Indian shores took place in Dubai with a lot of buzz and excitement surrounding all the 10 teams involved. It turned out to be a great auction with franchises breaking their banks for certain players. 


Going into the IPL 2024 mini-auction, last year’s runners-up Gujarat Titans (GT) had the largest purse with INR 38.15 crore for the auction followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (INR 34 crore) Kolkata Knight Riders (INR 32.7 crore), Chennai Super Kings (INR 31.4 crore), Punjab Kings (INR 29.10 crore), Delhi Capitals (INR 28.95 crore), Royal Challengers Bangalore (INR 23.25 crore), Mumbai Indians (INR 17.75 crore), Rajasthan Royals (14.5 CR) and Lucknow Super Giants (INR 13.5 crore).

However, they got the recent sensation Azmatullah Omarzai at a base price along with the smart purchase of Kartik Tyagi before going all guns for Australia pacer Spencer Johnson.
