There was a plethora of records set/broken in the 40th, 41st and 42nd matches of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Here’s a look at the major ones:
42nd IPL Match: MI vs PBKS in Abu Dhabi
170 - Saurabh Tiwary never won the Player of the Match award in T20 cricket after playing 170 games which is a record of playing the greatest number of matches in T20 cricket without winning the Player of the Match award.
300 - MI all-rounder Kieron Pollard reached to 300-wicket mark in T20 cricket during his match-winning spell of 8/2 against PBKS.
11 - Kieron Pollard is the eleventh player in the world to complete 300 wickets in T20 cricket.
1 - Kieron Pollard became the only player in T20 history to aggregate 10,000 runs and bag 300 wickets.
2 - Krunal Pandya became the second MI player after Kieron Pollard to score 1,000 runs and bag 50 wickets in IPL.
3 - Krunal Pandya became only the third Indian player to aggregate 50 wickets and 1,000 runs in IPL.
8 - Krunal Pandya became the eighth player to complete 1,000 runs and 50 wickets in IPL.
41st IPL Match: KKR Vs DC in Sharjah
1 – It was the first occasion when no sixes were hit by any side in Sharjah in IPL as DC players couldn’t hit a single six in their tally of 127/9 against KKR. The previous record was only one six by RCB against KKR in 2014 and against SRH in 2020.
1 - DC skipper Rishabh Pant became the highest run-getter (2390) for DC by surpassing Virender Sehwag (2382) in T20 cricket during his knock of 39 runs off 36 balls against KKR.
1 – It was the first time that Steven Smith faced the first ball of an innings across all official formats in 589th innings across First-class, List-A and T20 cricket.

40th IPL Match: SRH vs RR at Dubai
2 - Jason Roy became only the second player to win Player-of-the-Match on debut for SRH after Amit Mishra who won an award in this category against Pune Warriors in Hyderabad in 2013.
2 - Jason Roy became only the second player to score at least 50 runs on debut for SRH after Shikhar Dhawan against CSK in Chennai.
1 - RR skipper Sanju Samson became the highest run-getter (615) against SRH in T20 cricket after surpassing Shane Watson (566) during his astonishing knock of 82 runs off 57 balls on Monday.
15 - Sanju Samson scored his 15th half-century in IPL for RR on Monday.
9 - Bhuvneshwar Kumar has now bowled nine maiden overs in his IPL career till now. Only Praveen Kumar (14) and Irfan Pathan (10) have bowled more maiden overs in IPL than Bhuvneshwar.
17 - SRH skipper Kane Williamson scored his 17th IPL half-century in this game.
