Brief Score: BAN 233 (M Haque 107) & 146 (S Islam 50) lost to IND 285/9 (dec) (Y Jaiswal 72) & 98/3 (Y Jaiswal 51) by 7 wickets.

Despite losing two full days and over half of the Test match in Kanpur, India pushed for a result in the final two days with an aggressive approach. The hosts registered one of their greatest wins by defeating Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the second Test. Ravindra Jadeja’s heroics with the ball on Day 5 completely dismantled the opposition's batting line-up. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s blazing knock led India to a historic victory.

Talking Point: India’s relentless bowling unit exploits conditions

The dominance of India’s bowling attack has been a recurring theme recently, and the second Test match against Bangladesh is another testament to their impact. The bowlers ensured that the opposition had no chance to respond strongly. The collapse of Bangladesh in the face of India's relentless bowling attack highlights the depth and quality of India's bowling unit.

When playing on home soil, India's bowlers have mastered the art of exploiting the turning tracks and variable bounce to their advantage. The spinners, in particular, have thrived in these conditions, bamboozling opposition batters with their guile and variations. India's bowlers have excelled in the longest format of the game, be it spinners exploiting turning tracks or pacers making use of helpful conditions.

Jadeja, Bumrah, Ashwin rattle visitors, BAN all-out on 146

Resuming Day 4 at 26/2, Bangladesh kept on losing wickets regularly. The first session was extended by half an hour after Jasprit Bumrah took two quick wickets to reduce Bangladesh to their last stand. Earlier, Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets in his first three overs, thus ending the chances of a resistance that Bangladesh saw during a steady stand between captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shadman Islam.

A collective effort from the entire bowling unit helped India bundle out Bangladesh for 146 on Day 5. Bumrah took the last wicket right at the stroke of Lunch. Jadeja, Bumrah, and Ravichandran Ashwin shared nine wickets between them as India needed 95 runs to win in the two remaining sessions of the Kanpur Test for a 2-0 clean sweep. For the visitors, Shadman Islam scored 50 runs and Mushfiqur Rahim scored 37, the only notable contributions.

Jaiswal, Kohli lead India to historic series win

Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal started the proceedings for India in the chase of 95. However, soon Mehidy Hasan Miraz provided Bangladesh with a double breakthrough as he dismissed Shubman Gill for 6, after removing Rohit Sharma for 8. Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal looked sharp as India appeared well-positioned to win.

Jaiswal smashed yet another dazzling half-century and did the job for his team before getting dismissed by Taijul Islam. The new batter, Rishabh Pant, hit the winning runs for the home team to mark a comprehensive win. For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan was the pick of the bowlers in the second innings.
